District 3 Commissioner Jim Borden is a lifelong resident of the Cordova area in Walker County and a graduate of Cordova High School. He served in the 117th Birmingham Air National Guard for 8 years.
A retired professional firefighter, Jim worked for Birmingham City Fire and Rescue for 29 years and also worked part-time for a local excavating company. Jim and his wife, Darlene are parents of two children: Kaela and Brent.
Brent Borden, is a Relationship Banker with Wells Fargo in Birmingham, and their Daughter-in-Law, Courtney Borden, is a Special Education teacher at Linda Nolan Learning Center in Shelby County.
Jim is an active member at Corinth Baptist Church in Cordova, Alabama. He also serves on the Walker County Community Action Agency board. He feels that serving the citizens of Walker County is an honor and is humbled to be elected to the Walker County Commission.
District 3 includes the towns of Parrish, Oakman and the surrounding areas in south Walker County
